Yvonne Mysliwiec was a reporter in a small local newspaper
in Ilkley, north of Leeds. This attack was never associated with the
Ripper investigation and was made by the mad man Peter Sutcliffe about 6
weeks after the Ripper murdered Barbara Leach to a blaze of publicity on
1st September 1979. It is very likely she described Sutcliffe to the
police but as in the other assaults he committed in 1979 and 1980 they
didn't want him even though they knew him intimately and his involvement.
The goal was to get their hands on Tracey, the Ripper, not some crazy copy
cat killer they had fully eliminated as the Ripper.
